I love hang gliding, and would argue that It is a sport. I know if others would agree though, it does depend on what you consider to be a sport. Probably, if you'd count snowboarding as a sport, hang gliding should count too. Although it's not a team sport (like snowboarding isn't either), hang gliding has a national association, and national/international level competitions, and also rules and regulations for flying that must be learned before attempting to hang glide.
